I Have a Poster Problem…

2009 December 16
by CR

I’m like CRAZY addicted to prints/posters/letterpress/photos/things you frame/things that get put on walls.  The prints below are just a few I’ve come across in the last few days that I want to possess. Secondly, I came to the conclusion today that if I’m going to keep feeding this addiction (cuz I have no intention of stopping) and not have packed walls, I’ll have to rotate out my posters et al. Most of the art I’m attracted to is conveniently 18×24 so it’d be a pretty seamless seasonal transition – which has me pretty excited. See my wish list after the jump: read more…

Viktor and Rolf

2009 December 16

Hey there everyone! I’ve been up in San Francisco for the last couple days for work, hence the radio silence.  Today while I was waiting for my flight (on Virgin America – first time flying w/ them – AWESOME) at SFO I was perusing the usual duty free fare and stumbled across the amazing fragrance line of one of my fav design houses, Viktor & Rolf out of Amsterdam. Not only are these bottles leagues ahead of anything else out there in terms of sophistication and edginess, but all the scents themselves are top-notch and sophisticated. Antidote is seriously threatening a coup d’etat of my current Guerlain Homme cologne. For the ladies be sure to check out Flowerbomb and Eau Mega.

Big Blue

2009 December 13

I made my usual bi-monthly pilgrimage to the blue and yellow mecca of Swedish design for some Christmas gifts…and maybe a frame for myself. Saw some newish things that I could see myself taking home.

Ok folks. Calm down. I know you all have been eagerly awaiting Pantone’s color of 2010 announcement before you went off redecorating the living room. No? Pantone? Well anyway. Goodbye Mimosa. Hello Turquoise. So now you know.

Turquoise Transports Us to an Exciting, Tropical Paradise While Offering a Sense of Protection and Healing in Stressful Times.”

I really love these arboreal puns by Christopher Neimann for the NY Times. I’m kinda a plant nerd, but I’m pretty sure you’ll like these too.

La Blogotheque’s Take Away Shows

2009 December 9

I’ve been stumbling across these amazing Take Away Shows by La Blogotheque for a long time now.  Earlier this week the newest edition featuring my favorite French quartet and potential best of 2009 contender - Phoenix. I love the concept of these videos: take an awesome band, take ‘em outside or someplace intimate where you usually wouldn’t catch a band of that caliber, and record it all for us to enjoy.

Gotta admit this video is a little claustrophobic until about 2 minutes in.

Gettin’ Festive

I heart Christmas. And now that I have my own pad, I’m responsible for visually displaying that fact to the world. I went with the ladies to collect pine cones about a month ago, then spray painted them during the bedroom frame project, and now they be bringin’ da cheer. I also scored some sweet vintage glass and thread ornaments for the tannenbaum from the local Salvation Army a few weeks back – FTW.
