Jeff Koons

Jeff Koons is one of America’s heavy hitters — well, at least he thinks so.  Koons is one of the worlds premiere artists (who decides this? I do not know), but what I do know is that some of my art profs got pretty hung up on him. Regardless of his ordained stature, I happen to like his whimsical and ridiculous pieces. The Tate has an interesting interview with him at his studio, which is more like a factory, where he supervises his art-making minions. Check it out here. Also as a side note, all his big statues that look like balloons and such are really made out of metal and are stiff objects — which you have to respect. See some more of Koon’s work after the jump.

Thanks to Dudes in Suits for the tip about the video
