MSTRKRFT (pronounced “Master-craft”) is one of my absolute favorite bands (if you can call them a band)… even though the band’s creation was the cause of one another favorite band’s death – Death From Above 1979. I digress, this video for Heartbreaker is probably one of the best videos I’ve seen in a long time. There is so much richness and drama in a two minute span it’s amazing. And I really love the richness of all the characters. The video was directed by Vincent Haycock and I think he summarizes the video best,

“Set in a run-down Los Angeles 99 cent-type store, this video is a stylish visual story about two young lovers who find a moment of transcendence amidst the decay and commerce.”

P.S. Randomly, I’ve eaten at that taco stand on the MSTRKRFT homepage. It’s a little hut on Vine south of Santa Monica Blvd. Try the Lengua or Carne Asada tacos – mmmmmm.
